Francesco Totti was born on 27 September 1976 in Rome, Italy to Lorenzo Totti and his wife Fiorella Totti. Not much is known about the work of Totti's parents, but his mother was very supportive of Totti in his career as a footballer.Francesco Totti is a fan of Italian footballer Giusseppe Giannini and started playing football since childhood. Francesco Totti used to be a street footballer in his childhood. And before the age of 8, Totti joined the club's youth system called Fortitude. Subsequently, Francesco Totti played for the youth teams at Smit Trastevere and Lodigani.

Francesco Totti developed into an attacking midfielder following Zdenak Zeman's appointment as AS Roma manager in 1997 and during that season, Totti scored a number of goals for his team and scored 8 goals alone as Roma finished fourth.The following year on 31 October, Francesco Totti was appointed club captain.
